So I've just laid my eyes on Alexanders McQueen's spring/summer collection
for next year and i can tell you Mr McQueen failed to disappoint! His
collection is filled with a mixture of suits, all in ones and beautiful gowns.
Also he's used colours such as beau blue, light grey, black and jewel colours
like red, blue etc.
I love how he's used androgyny
to for the suits, i also admire how he's re-introduced shoulder pads which
contrast with the bootleg cut trousers which add length to whoever is wearing
them. The belts add a futuristic taste to the collection made from chrome.
One of my favourite things from this collection is
the dragonfly print on the all in one bustier suit with the waist belt. This
piece is so elegant and original, the dragonfly print is so soft yet bold
because they stand out and still don't over shadow the belt which makes the body
look like it has a Barbie figure.
On the subject of prints, he's also used a stunning
oriental print of birds and leaves that veer off the futuristic side of the
collection and into a more 'old china'.
McQueen also designed mesmerising ball gowns with
the classic colours gold and black. The lengthening gowns are so classy and
feminine, they would flow so delicately and suit any occasion. I also
adore hows kept it in the theme of being clenched in at the waist which help
whoever is wearing its neckline and shoulders to be accentuated.
Therefore Alexander McQueens collection has been a
success and i look forward to see who will be pulling of theses items in the
near future.
